Joe Maddock was the second paid head coach of the Utah Utes football team. The Utes represent the University of Utah for intercollegiate football games. Maddock compiled a record of 36–9–1 while at Utah from 1904 to 1909.[1] However, several of the games played are not include in the official NCAA records; in such games, Maddock had a record of 28–9–1 (.750).[2] Utah did not yet have a conference and played all its games as an independent.
